May 1st Community Fair

This year members expressed the need for something more than the traditional May Day march, so we transformed SWU into a healing and resource fair.

More than 300 folks came through, as a result of block-walking in district 2. Community members were able to sign up for massages and limpias, get their brake lights repaired, bike repair, take home dental hygiene kits, energy efficient light bulbs, get tested for sexually transmitted infections, and more.

Children enjoyed face painting and a moon bounce. Our friends Los de Esta Noche performed their best cumbias and Mama Tierra made sure we all had vegan nourishment.
