Program Coordinator: Membership & Volunteer (Full Time) - The primary focus of this position is to coordinate membership, and manage volunteer systems to ensure proper communication, clear issue action steps, communication and clean database systems to ensure the Centro (SWU) community is activated on critical issues. This position will also create and lead leadership development and popular education opportunities.

Program Coordinator: Environmental Justice (Full Time) - Manage the Environmental Justice Programming by coordinating members, volunteers and allies to take consistent action on upcoming issues and events related to the organization.

Upcoming areas of work for 2024 & 2025:

  • CPS Energy Rate Hike

  • Decreasing fossil fuel dependency through advocating for increased renewable energy and community commentary and public discourse.

  • Support Local Environmental Justice efforts around pollution clean up and climate justice advocacy efforts.

Administrative Assistant (Part Time, 25 Hours a week) - This position will provide administrative assistance to the Directors, and focus on providing organizational skills and support for the Board of Directors for Centro por la Justicia and Southwest Public Workers Union.

Primary Tasks: Lead logistical support for the Board of Directors including scheduling, creation of agendas & note taking, research & presentation on relevant topics, management of documentation and on occasion support with restorative conflict resolution.

Secondary Task: Support for the Directors in administrative task to support organizational mission.

Civic Engagement Canvassers (Temporary Position, 16 - 20 Hours) - Time is running out, and this is our final opportunity to encourage voters to exercise their right and shape the future of our country. Join our Get Out The Vote campaign to engage voters and help protect democracy. The campaign runs from September 2nd until Election Day on November 4th. This fall position focuses on civic engagement and making voting accessible to our community.The position requires a commitment of 16 to 20 hours per week, split between phone banking and field canvassing. Weekend hours may vary. Compensation is $18 per hour for phone banking and $18 per hour plus an additional $2 hazard pay for field canvassing.
